There has been great excitement at Romansrivier where the workers are pruning trees with electric pruning shears from Felco. Felco electric shears represent a big improvement on manual pruning as it is possible to prune much faster with these pruning shears than using traditional manual pruning shears. There has been a 50% improvement in productivity compared to the traditional pruning method.
Feedback from the workers that are using these shears is very positive. The shears have made pruning considerably easier and it allows the workers to be much more efficient. Romansrivier is planning to get more of these shears to assist with the big job of pruning on the farm.
